Barack Obama gives Jay Z a special shout out after he was inducted into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame #SHOF [VIDEO]

“A small part of the reason the president is black, I told him ‘I got him’ when he hit me on the jack,” Jay Z on “What We Talkin’ About” in 2009. In 2009, Barack Obama began his presidency and Jay Z returned with The Blueprint 3. It’s definitely no longer 2009.

Needless to say, Obama is no longer the president and Jay Z hasn’t released an album in years. Fan speculation shows Jay Z is going to release a new album. But, during his most-recent promo runs, Jay Z was crucial in Obama’s 2008 and 2012 election wins.

Barack Obama and Jay Z formed a friendship that led 44 to do a special video in light of Jay Z’s induction. He showed love to all of the inductees, before sharing his similarities to Jay Z, and what his future holds with his twins on the way. Obama also poked fun at him, by saying they both know what it’s like to have wives more popular than themselves, Michelle and Beyonce.
