Barack Obama unveils favorite music of 2022 list 

Every year, former President Barack Obama reveals various summer playlists of his, as well as his favorite overall songs, at the end of the year. Mr. Obama took to social media to reveal his favorite music of 2022 list, as there were plenty of fan favorites.

Among the songs included in Obama’s playlist were “Shirt” by SZA, “POF” by Ari Lennox, the chart-topping “Break My Soul” by Beyoncé, and “The Heart Part 5,” by Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick, Beyoncé and SZA all had number one albums, this year. These were all projects that were a long time coming, as Kendrick and SZA hadn’t released albums since 2017. Beyoncé hadn’t released a solo album since 2016. As a result, these projects all had some of the biggest selling first week albums of 2022.

Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” also made Obama’s favorite music of 2022 list. This record went on to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. About Damn Time also AP elated on her new “Special” album, which soon debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.
