After Roc-A-Fella Records, Beanie Sigel struggled to get his career on track. Only weeks after defending Jay-Z on the radio, Beanie Sigel began dissing him. Throughout the final months of 2009, Beanie Sigel did nothing but insult Jay-Z. Closer to the end of the year, Beanie Sigel also brought 50 Cent into the frenzy. In the end, Jay-Z only once addressed the situation.

The feud between Beanie Sigel and Jay-Z came to an official end earlier this year. Along with this news came a distribution deal with EMI Records. For years, State Property Records had been dormant, but Beanie Sigel was preparing to restore relevance in his label. With his new solo album in the works, the future was looking bright for Beanie Sigel and company.

Overall, the Philadelphia hip hop scene has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years and a Beanie Sigel comeback would have been perfect. While Beanie Sigel may still enjoy this comeback, the plans have been put on hold. After being brought up on charges for evading taxes, the popular rapper was sentenced to two years behind bars.
