Benny The Butcher addresses fans in his DMs, who are worried about him not having control, in his new Def Jam deal [VIDEO]
Benny The Butcher has continued to prove that he’s one of the best lyricists in the game. The Buffalo rapper has become a household name in the industry, as he’s helped put Griselda Records on the map. In November, Benny also revealed that he signed a deal with Def Jam.
Recently though, Benny revealed that fans in his Instagram stories have been worried about Def Jam possibly not treating him right. This is due to this being common with artists and major record labels. For Benny though, he thinks these concerns are blown way out of proportion, and emphasized that he has control, as well.
“You n*ggas who be in my DMs, who be in my comments sayin’ like, ‘Yo, don’t let Def Jam do this’ or ‘Don’t let Def Jam do that.’ What y’all on? What, you think a n*gga work this hard and was this self-made for this long to get somewhere and let somebody tell me, ‘You know what, you can’t do it like this no more, you gotta do it like this. Y’all gotta use y’all f*ckin’ brains before y’all start thinkin’ sh*t like that. I’mma boss. You feel what I’m sayin’? That’s how I got here, by making my own decisions and they understand that so, stop sayin’ sh*t [just to say it].”
Benny has been very consistent in his 2021 releases as well. He’s dropped several projects, such as “The Plugs I Met 2,” “Pyrex Picasso,” and “Truth The Sopranos.” On December 17, he also put out a new single in “Mr. Pyrex Man.”
