BET continues music-related programming, giving green light to “Death Row Chronicles,” a six-part Death Row Records series

One of the most-told, yet still most-interesting stories is of Death Row Records. Following his exit from Ruthless Records, Dr. Dre joined forces with bodyguard, Suge Knight, to build the label. Knight, himself, took a major outside investment and took the music world over.

Death Row Records went on an unprecedented streak, where no release under the label from its 1991 founding until 1996, went platinum. The label would soon nosedive, however, but not before making historically-huge amounts of money. This is why the story is so addictive.

BET is the go-to place for all music-related content and has been since it first opened its doors. But, there is a renewed interest in BET content, since they ramped up their scripted programming, knocking it out of the park with The New Edition Story, so they are giving their viewers more. Recently, the green-lit the “Death Row Chronicles,” a six-part series about the LA label.
