Beyoncé and her Renaissance World Tour fund $100,000 to help Metro service in Maryland extend service by an hour after concert experienced two-hour weather delay

Beyoncé & Renaissance Tour help extend Metro hours in Maryland

On Sunday night, Beyoncé held the second straight night of her Renaissance World Tour concerts in Landover, MD. This was held inside FedEx Field, which is home to the NFL’s Washington Commanders. However, prior to the concert kicking off, it was delayed due to rain and lightning in the area.  As a result, fans in inside the stadium were ordered to shelter in place, until the weather improved.

Furthermore, Beyoncé did go on to perform her concert at FedEx Field as planned, despite a very lengthy delay of two hours. At the conclusion of the event, Bey and the tour made sure that public transit hours on the train were available as well, due to the concert running past the regular operations hours of the Metro.

According to ABC 7, Beyoncé and the tour fronted $100,000 to the Metro service near FedEx Field, in order for them to extend service hours by one more hour. This kept all 98 stations open for customers to exit, as well to fund other operational expenses.

Meanwhile, the next show of the Renaissance World Tour will take place on August 9, in Charlotte, NC. The host venue is Bank Of America Stadium.
