Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s ‘On The Run II Tour’ Is One of 2018’s Top 3 Highest Grossing Tours

2018 is coming to an end, and the entertainment polls are rolling in! Nominations and their nominees and winners are flooding timelines all over. To no surprise coming in at No. 3 of 2018’s highest grossing tours to date, is none other than entertainment’s power couple, Beyoncé and Jay-Z’sOn The Run II Tour’  competing with Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift’s respective tour runs.

This year Queen Bey and King Hov not only took one of the greatest tours of all time, ‘The On The Run Tour,’ back on the road, but followed ten days later with the release of their collaborative Everything Is Love album! The Carter’s ‘OTR II Tour’ wrapped up with $253.5 million in the bank. Doubling their 2014 ‘On The Run Tour’ which when finished racked up $109.6 million.

The fourty-eight stadium dates trek kicked off June 6th at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales and wrapped on October 4th at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field. Following those dates the hip-hop power couple performed eighteen shows throughout Europe including their two-night stop at London’s stadium where they grossed $11 million and sold over 125,000 tickets. In Europe, Bey and Jay also debuted their single “APESHIT” in Paris before they headed across seas for their 30 North American shows. The U.S. tour dates generated their largest earning night with their August 25th and August 26th show at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, grossing $14.1 million.

Holding the top spot is Ed Sheeran with his ‘Divide Tour’. The two year run kicked off in March of 2017 and still hasn’t wrapped. It has already generated nearly half a billion dollars and his tour is the sixth tour run to gross more than $300 million in a year bringing in $429,491,502. The tour has a total of 14 legs and Ed just wrapped Leg 10 in North America and is now getting prepared to begin Leg 11 throughout Latin America in February 2019.

Following in second place is Taylor Swift with her ‘Reputation Tour’ which has garnered $315 million. The rest of the top five tours is rounded out by Bruno Mars’ ‘24K Magic Tour’ with 237.8 million and P!nk’s The Beautiful Trauma World Tour’ in support of her seventh studio album, “Beautiful Trauma” with $180.4 million.
