Though she sings, Beyonce’s career has begun to mirror that of her husband, Jay-Z. For some time, Beyonce has been considered to be on top of her competition. In the eyes of the media, this has remained the case, meanwhile there has been a major backlash against her for years.
Similar to what Jay-Z would have done a decade ago, Beyonce released a very boastful single, “Bow Down.” This song comes after Beyonce closed one of the biggest deals of the year in entertainment in the form of the Pepsi deal. Keyshia Cole immediately called out her fellow singer over the song, but Beyonce is moving forward.
Beyonce has always looked out for her native Houston and their hip hop scene. Back in 2006, Beyonce featured a fresh-faced Slim Thug on her “Check on It” single. Now, she is featuring Bun B, Willie D (of The Geto Boys), Scarface, Slim Thug, Kirko Bangz, and Lil KeKe. My Fox Houston’s Isiah Carey recently announced the collaboration a little before time.
