This year has seen Jay Z and Beyonce return to the public eye in a major way. Hip hop’s leading power couple got started early this year, when Jay Z purchased Aspiro, the parent company of TIDAL. Before the spring began, he lined up many of the biggest names in music as partners.
Since Jay Z launched TIDAL, he has done many philanthropic things, along with Beyonce. They were pivotal in the Baltimore riots, putting money up and doing a concert with Prince. This all happened while facing stiff competition from Spotify and Apple Music.
Beyonce continues to make her rounds, after upsetting many, including her own fans, after her “Good Morning America” appearance, yesterday. Recently, Jay Z and Beyonce took a trip to Haiti and they are giving back there, too. When they were there, Beyonce visited a Children’s Hospital.
