In 2010, Big K.R.I.T.’s underground buzz landed him a meeting with Def Jam, which led to him being signed. Immediately, Big K.R.I.T. began working on his debut album, Live From the Underground. Initially, the album was given a 2011 release date, but the year went by without an album release. During the fall of 2011, Big K.R.I.T. revealed the album had been delayed until 2012.

To hold fans over, Big K.R.I.T. announced he would release a mixtape, 4EvaNaDay. The mixtape ended up facing as many delays as the album. It was not until earlier this month when the mixtape was finally released. Upon delivering the long-awaited mixtape, fans began to wonder when the official debut album was coming. Big K.R.I.T. soon revealed his album would be released during the summer of 2012.

Hard Knock TV recently caught up with Big K.R.I.T. and he discussed his mixtapes, his albums, representing the South, and much more.
