Not since David Banner had Mississippi had a successful hip hop artist on a national scale, but this changed with Big K.R.I.T., when Def Jam took a chance on him. Newly removed from G-Unit, Sha Money XL left for Def Jam and Big K.R.I.T. was his first signing. Back in the summer, Sha Money XL told Hip Hop Vibe about how the deal came to be.
