When Big Sean rose to fame in 2011, Kanye West soon began to focus the energy of his label, G.O.O.D. Music on him. The year before, Kanye West signed Pusha T to the label and this led to backlash from the older artists. Consequence left the label and he began taking shots at Kanye West and Pusha T.
Though he never was disrespectful toward G.O.O.D. Music, Kid Cudi appeared to be lost in the shuffle. He continued to release new music and do interviews, but only made a few appearances with his label-mates. When the Cruel Summer promotion began, Kid Cudi had all but been forgotten, with 2 Chainz playing a bigger part than him.
Both Big Sean and Kid Cudi were in Los Angeles when news broke of Cudder leaving his longtime label home. During Big Sean’s Power 106 interview, he expressed his support for Kid Cudi. When Vlad TV caught up with Big Sean, he echoed his statements and went further, saying they are all still a crew.
