A short eighteen months ago, Big Sean was like many artists who are backburnered on popular record labels, frustrated. In 2007, Kanye West signed Detroit rapper, Big Sean, to G.O.O.D. Music and promised to soon release Finally Famous, his debut album. Big Sean had high hopes of releasing his album in 2009, but these hopes were dashed.
After his album did not come in 2010, Big Sean was at his wits end when Kanye West gave him the greenlight. Big Sean released “My Last,” his debut single, which features Chris Brown, which was released early in 2011, becoming one of the biggest hits of the year. Safe to say, Big Sean is no longer frustrated.
Big Sean has since become one of the biggest rappers on the planet, working with everyone from every popular camp in hip hop. Before the mainstream success, however, Big Sean was a popular mixtape rapper in Detroit. Even though his second album is on the way, Big Sean tributes his origins, as he prepares his new project, Detroit.
