Last week, Tekashi 6ix9ine’s sophomore album, ‘Tattle Tales’ was projected to become the No. 1 album in the country but then the numbers plummeted. Big Sean’s ‘Detroit 2’ album then took the driver’s seat.
Detroit 2’s momentum hasn’t slowed down at all as it’s about to be set to take the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, according to Chart Data. It’ll debut with 111,000 units in its first week. Tattle Tales will take the No. 4 spot with 56,000. Pop Smoke’s ‘Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon’ album is at No. 3 and Juice WRLD’s ‘Legends Never Die’ was listed at No. 4.
Detroit 2 is led by the singles “Deep Reverence” featuring the late Nipsey Hussle and “Harder Than My Demons.” This served as the sequel to the first Detroit project that was released as a mixtape in 2012. 6ix9ine has since been trolling himself with the numbers that he didn’t expect to see by passing out CDs. Following its initial release, he blasted streaming services for supposedly not promoting his album enough compared to other music that was released that day.
