Birdman had a vision and launched Cash Money Records. He surprised the world when he and No Limit took pics together. For years, Cash Money and No Limit had an unspoken rivalry. However, this rivalry has officially come to an end. Now, representing the city, he and Slim have received the ultimate honor from their hometown of New Orleans. They got the city’s keys from the mayor.
Birdman always served as the face of the label, while Slim backed him up behind the scenes. In his career, he opened up doors for many artists. Among the people Birdman took a chance on is Lil Wayne, who became one of the biggest rappers of all-time. Just from having Wayne on the roster ended up leading to millions of records being sold.
Birdman and Slim were present at the New Orleans City Hall. The mayor and the other city executives had the Cash Money Records co-CEOs present. Together, they presented the two with the city’s keys. It is a high honor for the guys. After all, they have done a lot to honor their hometown, with the success of the label, over the years.
