Don’t know if he did it on purpose, but Birdman ended up taking DJ Khaled’s spot this summer. “Tap Out” has taken the place of the yearly DJ Khaled single that becomes the biggest hit of the summer. This is not to say “No New Friends” didn’t have a good run this summer, but “Tap Out” ruled things this this year.
Birdman started the spring out with an announcement of a single featuring Future, Mack Maine, Nicki Minaj, and Detail. A few weeks later, “Tap Out” was released and it ended up becoming a pretty big hit on the radio. Back in May, the music video hit the internet and did massive numbers.
This summer, Birdman received a lot of radio play for “Tap Out.” Radio has loved the song, as have the clubs. It has even had that crossover international appeal, becoming big here in London. Now, Birdman has received another gold plaque from the RIAA.
