Birdman releases statement about Lil Wayne’s Billboard record

A few years ago, there were demands from fans who wanted Lil Wayne mentioned in the same categories as Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., and Jay-Z. Rising the ranks at rapid pace, even Lil Wayne once demanded this. In the time since then, Wayne has shifted his focus to skateboarding and his businesses.

While Lil Wayne is more focused on skateboarding, he still manages to get a new verse out there every now and again. As he did in 2011, Lil Wayne gave a verse to Game for the lead single of his new album. “Celebration” is the first single from Game’s upcoming album, Jesus Piece, and also features Chris Brown, Tyga, and Wiz Khalifa.

As the song continues to gain momentum, it charted on Billboard’s Hot 100 at number 82. The charting placed Lil Wayne ahead of Elvis Presley on Billboard and it came on his 30th birthday. Birdman released a statement, expressing his pride in his “son,” calling this accomplishment a testament to his work.
