Birdman said he never made money with Gillie Da Kid
Birdman is one of the most polarizing figures in the industry. As a result, not everybody agrees with his decisions. However, if Birdman didn’t make the kinds of moves he made, Cash Money Records would likely not be the force of nature its been. While the label is no longer home to many of those chart-topping acts, it has a large roster, still. Recently, Gillie Da Kid has spoken out about his time at the label, but Birdman is responding with Wack 100.
Birdman has mostly kept quiet, while people have spoken on him. Gillie Da Kid often credits himself for a lot of Lil Wayne’s style. This is something Wayne has never denied. At the same time, Gillie and Wayne, both, have had choice words for Birdman over money that’s been owed. In the case of Gillie, he has moved into the space of podcasting. Over there, he managed to secure a $100 million deal of his own, putting him on Birdman’s level, financially.
Birdman recently did an interview with Wack 100 on Clubhouse. In this particular clip, Birdman addressed all that Gillie Da Kid’s been saying. First, he said he never made any kind of money from his work with Gillie. Second, he said they never put any music out. However, he said he worked with him due to liking his style, but nothing came of it. Also, he accused Gillie of not being the man he said he is, when it comes to the streets.
