Yesterday, MTV leaked a clip from Lil Wayne and during the interview, the Young Money boss made it clear he did not like New York City. Within hours, Malcolm Smith, a New York senator, called Lil Wayne out. Senator Smith held a press conference at Times Square in New York City and wanted Lil Wayne to come out and issue an apology.

FUSE TV had cameras at the Times Square press conference where Senator Smith called Lil Wayne out and asked for an apology. Smith said Lil Wayne not only dissed New York City, but he also dissed the legacy of Frank Sinatra and Jay-Z, who Lil Wayne often disses. Because of their anthems for New York City, but Ja Rule and Busta Rhymes, Wayne collaborators, also have New York songs.

Birdman would also weigh in and his response was captured by FUSE TV. Over the years, Birdman has often spoken up for Lil Wayne. In some ways the constant war-of-words between Lil Wayne and Jay-Z was caused by Birdman’s boasting. Giving his opinion on Lil Wayne’s statement, Birdman said he stands behind it, going as far as to say he dislikes New York City if his “son” does.
