In spite of how things may appear, politically, this is the golden era of black excellence and black entertainment. This is something BET has risen to the occasion for. Starting with them picking up “The Game” reruns in 2009, BET has delivered phenomenal programming.
BET is home to a plethora of award shows and cable’s number one series, “Being Mary Jane,” starring Gabrielle Union. The network is also home to “The Quad,” starring Anika Noni Rose. Tonight was the night of the Black Girls Rock ceremony, hosted by Taraji P. Henson.
Despite the show not airing until August 22, social media has made it possible to catch it tonight. The attendees, which included the ladies mentioned, shared behind the scenes footage from the event. Also, the PR people and fans who were there also shared the behind the scenes moments.
