This morning, Bobby Shmurda was finally freed from prison after almost seven years. He was picked up in a private jet by Quavo an his crew. From that point, the Brooklyn rapper quickly FaceTimed his mother as they shared pure joy after years of difficulties with his incarceration.
Now, Bobby is planning to spend more time with his family while also recording new music that fans have anxiously been waiting for. In the meantime, he has received three RIAA certifications shortly after his release today. These are all for material he put out in 2014 during his breakout year as an artist.
According to Chart Data, Bobby’s first hit single, “Hot N*gga,” is now 5x platinum in the US after selling 5 million units. His other popular 2014 single, “Bobby B*tch,” is at platinum status. Bobby’s debut EP, “Shmurda She Wrote,” just hit gold status after hitting the 500,000 units mark.
Hopefully, fans can get a new project from Bobby by the spring. It’s been a very long wait for fans and it’s highly likely that he’s been anxious himself to get back in the both and pump out more hits as he did back in 2014. A “First Day Out” record is also something that could be released soon as done frequently by rappers who get out of prison.
