Boosie says Jay-Z is not relevant in today’s landscape of music

Boosie recently offered his opinion on the comments 21 Savage made about Nas being relevant in the game. While a lot of people expected Nas to engage in beef with 21 Savage, he did something completely different. Instead of a war of words, Nas invited 21 Savage to join him on “One Mic, One Gun,” his newest single. As Nas ended any possible beef with 21, the world is still dissecting the discussion of relevance. Recently, Boosie sat down with VladTV to give his take.

Boosie is regarded as a legend in his native, Baton Rouge, in Louisiana. While he only had moderate success, nationwide, Boosie is beloved in his hometown. Definitely, this is not the case for most rappers, as it is typical for rappers to have to leave home to build a fan base. But Boosie was the rare artist who had that love from the beginning. As a result, he does not have to worry about not being taken care of. Even if he did, Boosie has reinvented himself as a social commentator, which built a new fan base.

Boosie gave Nas his props for being able to extend his career into the 2020s. While he definitely said Nas is still relevant, he had choice words for Jay-Z. This is not the first time Boosie has had contrarian things to say about Jay. However, his words were not insulting towards Jay-Z, at all. While Boosie did say that Jay-Z is no longer relevant, he made it clear he only meant that musically. However, he went on to say that, when it comes to the money, Jay remains very relevant.
