Bow Wow frustrated with lack of support from Cash Money Records

In 2009, Bow Wow retired from the rap game with the release of his “final” album, New Jack City, Pt. II. On the album, Bow Wow came full circle, working with his former label boss, Jermaine Dupri, and many more songs. Bow Wow was once one of the biggest rappers in the game, but his focus had shifted to acting.

Before the end of 2009, almost exactly three years ago, however, Bow Wow ended up signing with Cash Money Records. At the time, Lil Wayne had just expanded the roster of Young Money, as Drake and Nicki Minaj were just signed. Birdman was also interested in developing the main Cash Money label’s roster.

Work began immediately after Bow Wow signed to Cash Money Records on his first album with the label. Underrated has been delayed from the original 2010 date to some time in the indefinite future. Despite being one of of the hottest labels in the game, Bow Wow feels there is a lack of support for him and he says he is losing motivation to continue recording his album.
