Bow Wow speaks on being away from his daughter
The transition to adulthood in the public eye is difficult for child stars. Everyone from former “Family Matters” star, Jamie Foxworth, to Michael Jackson, struggled to transition into being an adult in the public eye. Bow Wow has been well-documented in his transition, as he made several mistakes.
A few years ago, Bow Wow came under fire when a woman accused him of being a deadbeat dad. Initially denying the child, Bow Wow soon financially stepped up for his child and made appearances with her. But, not being involved with the mother has kept him away from her.
Despite all his efforts to do right by his child, the media continues to lay into Bow Wow because of his situations. Once a dominating star on the countdown, Bow Wow is now the host of BET’s “106 & Park.” Oprah Winfrey recently featured Bow Wow in an upcoming episode of “Where Are They Now” and he spoke on fatherhood.

“My life as a father is, kind of new,” said Bow Wow. “My daughters only one years old. She’ll be two in April, April 27. Shai lives in Los Angeles and I’m in New York full time, it’s so hard. You know, I Skype with her, and I just wish that I can just reach in there and grab her little self and I can’t. For her I just wanna make sure that, you know, she’s able to do the things I wasn’t able to do. I wasn’t able to go to school dances. I wasn’t able to, you know, try out for my basketball team because I was on the road.”
