In 2009, Bow Wow retired from rapping to focus on his growing career as an actor, concluding his career with New Jack City, Pt. II. Months after the release of his final album, Bow Wow signed with Cash Money Records and began recording new music. It was during the early part of 2010 when Bow Wow revealed he had a new album in the works.

Cash Money Records has since become home to a plethora of new artists, as the label has added Mystikal, Busta Rhymes, DJ Khaled, followed by the entire roster of his label, We the Best Music Group, and is in discussion with Chief Keef. With all the additions to the label, paired with the promotion of Young Money, Bow Wow has been on the backburner. But, the summer of 2012 is Bow Wow’s time to return to the spotlight.

Fuse recently caught up with Bow Wow, who discussed his long-awaited comeback album, Underrated. Bow Wow also discussed his relationship with Chris Brown and why he parked his car at his house. Early in his career and before the age of ten, Bow Wow shared the same label home as Tupac Shakur at Death Row Records. Bow Wow, like many other emcees, finds himself inspired by Tupac and he recently compared his work ethic to that of Shakur during his conversation with Fuse.
