Brawls erupt at New Jersey’s Westwood High graduation ceremony

Westwood High School’s graduation ceremony descended into chaos as three separate brawls broke out on the football field. Thus, disrupting what was supposed to be a celebratory event.

The ceremony was held on Thursday evening. However, it took a shocking turn when altercations erupted among attendees. The fights involved adults rolling on the ground, grappling in full view of the students, family members, and faculty present.

The graduates, still adorned in their caps and gowns, were forced to step in and break up the brawls, displaying composure amid the disarray. Videos circulating on social media show the graduates intervening, trying to separate the adults and restore order.

The first fight reportedly started near the seating area for families and quickly escalated, prompting other skirmishes. Despite the intervention by the students and some attendees, the situation required intervention from local law enforcement to ensure safety and restore peace.

The Westwood Police Department confirmed that officers were dispatched to the scene and managed to quell the disturbances. No serious injuries were reported, though a few participants sustained minor injuries. One person was even sent to the hospital.
