Over the past twenty years, Busta Rhymes has delivered several hits. In 1991, Busta Rhymes was introduced as a member of Leaders of the New School. However, in 1996, Busta Rhymes made his solo debut and never looked back. Despite being in the game for twenty years, Busta Rhymes is still going strong. Last week, Busta Rhymes turned heads when he confirmed rumors of him signing with powerhouse, Cash Money Records.
Despite not releasing an album in 2011, Busta Rhymes has enjoyed a dominant year. The latest addition to Cash Money Records, Busta Rhymes is excited about the opporunity. While Busta Rhymes has a number of hits under his belt, he has been in the background over the past few years. Many of the current hip hop fans were too young to remember Busta during his run. Now, as a part of the surging Cash Money movement, Busta Rhymes will be relevant with the younger crowd.
Early in 2011, Busta Rhymes was able to earn numerous younger fans with his verse on Chris Brown’s comeback single, “Look At Me Now.” For the first time, Busta Rhymes explained how the collaboration came to be. He said Chris Brown was recording with Nelly, while he and his son were in the studio, also. During the studio session, Chris Brown played the beat, which became “Look At Me Now.” When Chris Brown played the track, the only part which had been completed was his own and Busta told him, “This shit is stupid. You doing that speed rap shit, let me show you how to keep the dice rolling while you doing that thing homie.”
Everyone in the studio liked that so much, they asked Busta Rhymes to say it again and then record his own verse. Busta Rhymes did just that, saying he blacked out and recorded his verse in one take. Upon it’s release on inflexwetrust.com, “Look At Me Now” took over the radio and helped Busta Rhymes return to the spotlight. In its own right, the song was popular and a Lil Wayne verse did not hinder matters. Later in the year, Lil Wayne invited Busta Rhymes to record on his Tha Carter IV, on the Outro. Busta Rhymes said he was honored to say the final words on such a popular album.
Now, Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne are label-mates and he is preparing his next album. Initially, Busta Rhymes planned to release two albums in 2009 and then he decided to release another album, his final, in 2010. Things changed and now Busta Rhymes is preparing to release E.L.E. 2 on Cash Money Records. Saying he never lost his love and passion for the game, Busta Rhymes said he could see himself rapping and making music for another twenty years.
