Two years ago, Cam Newton played outside of his mind and he led his team, the Carolina Panthers, to the best season in their history. It was tied for the best record in NFL history. Too bad it wasn’t enough for them to get to the Super Bowl, or even make the playoffs last season.
But, this isn’t about how the Cowboys are a better team than Carolina, not at all. Instead, this is about Cam Newton and how he lost a major sponsorship. Yesterday, the Panthers held a media day and Cam Newton spoke to the press.
When a female reporter asked Cam Newton about his game, he shot back that he was surprised a female would ask him that. The comment was meant to be lighthearted, but the media turned it into more than it had to be. Now, one of his sponsors, Dannon, has ended their relationship with Newton and the internet is going in.
