A man is currently in federal custody, after he illegally entered the United States. The man is a native of the Canadian province of Ontario. However, he swam across the St. Clair River at midnight, in order to get into Michigan. He did this on September 6 in hopes of getting into America, so he could obtain a gun. According to reports, when he was arrested, he told the authorities he could not get a gun in Canada.

When it comes to the United States’ border, most of the attention goes to Mexico. Much of the politics of the past decade have centered around the Mexican border. A major concern has been people illegally entering the United States from Mexico. However, there’s been almost no attention given to Canada and the border up there. Meanwhile, that border saw a man come to America to steal a gun.

Jeremy Wallace is a native of Ontario, in Canada. On September 6, he put on a wetsuit with a flotation device and fins, in order to swim across the St. Clair River. At midnight, he did that, and illegally entered the US state of Michigan. After that, he walked sixteen miles to a pawn shop and tried to buy a gun. When the shop refused, Wallace stole a handgun, two clips, and then ran.

Upon his arrest, Wallace explained he had been arrested in Canada on a firearms charge. As a result, he couldn’t buy guns in Canada.
