Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion To Perform “WAP” For The First Time Together at GRAMMYs

Last August, Cardi B arguably the biggest hit of 2020 with her “WAP” single featuring Megan Thee Stallion. It skyrocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the music video also went viral. Those visuals included Kylie Jenner, Mulatto, Normani, and more. It also drew criticism from Republicans for its highly sexual content but Cardi still kept winning big.
Now, Cardi and Megan will finally perform WAP for the first time and it will be at the upcoming 63rd annual GRAMMYs, according to Chart Data. The awards show will take place on March 14 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Cardi did not submit WAP for Grammy consideration though as she wants to release her sophomore album first, which is expected to be out sometime this year.
A few days ago, WAP was also certified 5x platinum in the US by the RIAA. This is after selling 5 million units. That same day, Cardi also went diamond for her 2017 breakout hit single, “Bodak Yellow.” She became the only female rapper to ever reach this mark. It’s expected that WAP should reach diamond status sometime this year or in early 2022 as well.
