Cardi B Continues to Tell VMAs That Normani and Lizzo Need to Be Booked to Perform There Next Month

On Wednesday, Cardi B voiced support for her collaborators, Lizzo and Normani, to perform at the 2021 VMAs. That came after the list of performers were revealed. Among them are Olivia Rodrigo, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Nas X, Camila Cabello and Lorde. As of now, Lizzo and Normani haven’t been added to the lineup.

Normani ended up telling Cardi on Twitter how the VMAs hasn’t booked her yet. On Thursday night, Cardi went on to use the hashtag #BookNormani, in support of her. Last month, the two collaborated on Normani’s new “Wild Side” single, which debuted at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Lizzo hasn’t responded yet, but she’s heavily promoting her new single “Rumors,” featuring Cardi, which came out last week. This is Lizzo’s first single since 2019, and is expected to be a top five record in the US this week.

Cardi isn’t on the VMAs performers lineup, but is nominated for Video of the Year, for her chart-topping 2020 “WAP” single, featuring Megan Thee Stallion. In the meantime, she continues to go hard for Normani and Lizzo to perform at this awards show, which will air live from Barclays Center, in Brooklyn, on September 12.
