What was more improbable than Cardi B going from “Love & Hip Hop” to the top of the charts was her staying there. Following her first season on the show, Cardi B said her second season was her last. That season was all about Cardi establishing herself as a successful artist.
This time period coincided with Migos finally becoming a successful crossover act. During this time, Cardi B signed her Atlantic Records deal, and teamed up with Offset for her first major single. While “Lick” failed, Cardi B and Offset began dating.
Not long afterward, Cardi B and Offset wed, but his constant cheating was a problem. Still, Cardi had his child, and in 2018, she became the biggest name in music, before breaking up with Offset, in the midst of rumors about him and Cuban Doll. While Cardi B said she had nothing but love for Offset, she dissed him at the iHeart Jingle Ball, throwing up her middle finger, during her “Bartier Cardi” performance.
