Seriously, when speaking on the top artists in the game, Cardi B has to be in that conversation now. Yeah, she’s had an incredible journey. But it’s not even about that, anymore. What it’s about is that she has a dope track that keeps getting hotter.
Cardi B actually dropped “Bodak Yellow” at the beginning of the summer, but it was only a moderate hit. When the late summer hit, she ended up taking over. The Bronx femcee is now sitting as one of the top rappers out, period.
A lot of talk has been had about what it will mean if Cardi B tops the charts with “Bodak Yellow.” She’ll have the first female rap song to hit number one, in the 2010s, and the first solo female artist since 1997. It looks like history will soon be made, as Cardi B is expected to surpass Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” at number one.
