Cardi B is the only female rapper to have a song, #BodakYellow, debut on the Billboard Hot 100 with no features in 2017

Got to respect the grind of this young lady, right here, Cardi B. When she was in the clubs, doing what she does, Cardi B had a plan to become a big name in music. She took her talents to Instagram, where she became a household name, before moving to television.

Two years ago, VH1 added Cardi B to the “Love & Hip Hop” cast and she generated new interest in the show. After her first season, Cardi B let it be known that she’d be leaving. Her second season wrapped, earlier this year, and Cardi B is gone.

However, Cardi B is around now, more than ever, turning up with her fans on social media, and releasing new music. Earlier this year, Cardi B scored a hit with “Lick,” featuring Offset. Then, last month, she delivered “Bodak Yellow,” which entered the Hot 100 at number 85, making her the only female rapper in 2017 to chart on Billboard without a feature.
