Cardi B Reportedly Filed “WAP” Trademark Which Would Appear on Items Such As Clothing, Jewelry, Alcohol, Sports Drinks, and More

Cardi B’s “WAP” single featuring Megan Thee Stallion at this point, appears to be the most popular record aside in her career, aside from “Bodak Yellow.” WAP was released in early August and it was the instant talk of social media as the music video also impressed viewers.

WAP became the No. 1 song in the country on the Billboard Hot 100 chart until BTS’ “Dynamite” single took over a few weeks ago. WAP jumped back on top again briefly but now, Dynamite is No. 1 again. Nonetheless, WAP is still in second place now and will contend for the top spot this fall plenty of times.

Cardi is also no capitalizing on the popularity of the WAP word itself. According to TMZ, she filed paperwork last week to trademark it and among the items the word may appear on are clothing, headwear, footwear, athletic bags, purses and jewelry. Drinks are also in the equation as beer, sports drinks, soft drinks, fruit juices, water could also feature the word.

At this point, WAP has reached 2x platinum status in the US in less than two months.
