Cardi B wins lawsuit after being sued for mixtape cover
This week, Cardi B dealt with another lawsuit, involving an issue with the cover art to her 2016 “Gangsta B*tch Music Vol. 1” mixtape. Kevin Brophy sued Cardi back in 2017, for using his image and back tattoos without his permission. The cover art also displayed him going down on her.
Brophy initially wanted $5 million in damages, but ultimately, the court didn’t rule in his favor, according to TMZ. The ruling was made on Friday, at a courtroom in Santa Ana, CA. The federal jury also favored Cardi on all counts. It was ruled that Brophy wasn’t presented in a false light or constitute a misappropriation of his likeness.
On Friday night, Cardi also took to Twitter to express how ecstatic she was, about this huge legal victory for herself. After the trial, she also shouted out her legal team, for the work they put in, for the four-day trial.
“I just won this lawsuit …Im soo emotional right now 🥲…I wanna kiss Gods feet right now …..IM BEYOND GRATEFUL!!!!”
Now, fans hope that Cardi will finally be releasing her sophomore album, soon. Her last project came all the way back in April 2018, which was her debut studio album, “Invasion Of Privacy.”
