Cardi B has been an established star since 2016 ever since her “Love and Hip-Hop: New York” days on VH1. She really started to take off as an artist in the summer of 2017 with her breakout hit, “Bodak Yellow.” That propelled her to the success she’s at today and now, the single has reached an epic milestone.

According to reports, “Bodak Yellow” is now certified diamond in the US by the RIAA. This is after selling 10 million units. This mark also makes Bodak Yellow the first female rap song to go diamond. At the end of 2020, Bodak Yellow was inching closer to diamond status as it was 9x platinum and it was only a matter of time before this moment arrived. Its music video is also almost at 1 billion views on YouTube.

Bodak Yellow went on to appear on Cardi’s 2018 debut studio album, “Invasion of Privacy.” That project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and is currently 3x platinum in the US. Invasion of Privacy went on to win an award at the 2019 GRAMMYs for Best Rap Album.
