Carlton gets dragged on Twitter as the most hated Bel-Air character

Last weekend, “Bel-Air” premiered on Peacock, after much anticipation. Early in 2019, a trailer for a potential reboot of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” was shared on YouTube. The young man who came up with it is now the executive producer of the official reboot.

Will Smith was immediately involved in the reboot. The past couple of years have seen a renewed interest in the classic sitcom. Actually, in 2020, Will Smith sat down with the original cast of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” for a reunion show. This is where Will and Janet Hubert put their differences aside.

“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is now back, simply titled as “Bel-Air.” Shockingly enough, “Bel-Air” is a drama series, even though there are some elements of humor. Almost nothing is the same about the shows, aside from the character names. Each character is loosely based on their characters from the previous series, but it’s set in present-day culture. Just like in the original series, Carlton is the antagonist, jealous of Will. This time, Olly Sholotan is Carlton, and Jabari Banks is Will. Olly Sholotan has played Carlton so well that fans have taken to Twitter to vent about how much they hate him.
