Nine years ago, Philadelphia rapper, Cassidy, emerged when hip hop was going through a transitional period. During this time, three of the biggest artists in the game, DMX, Jay-Z, and Ja Rule were all on the decline. On the other side, however, several new stars, among them Cassidy, Chingy, and 50 Cent, emerged.

Cassidy, from the beginning, proved to be a consistent hitmaker from 2003 until 2005. It was during this time when Cassidy released such hits as “Hotel” and “I’m a Hustla.” Among many other hits, Cassidy proved to be a smart investment for Swizz Beatz. Working with the famed producer, Cassidy had the chance to get to know DMX.

Close to a decade after his debut, Cassidy, himself, finds himself in comeback mode. This mode is familiar turf, as DMX is in the same position. Vlad TV recently spoke to Cassidy about several topics. Among them was DMX’s comeback attempt, which Cassidy felt he could successfully pull off.
