Chaka Khan performs on NPR’s Tiny Desk

A rare and special performance is capturing rnb lovers of all generations. The iconic Chaka Khan finally steps in NPR’s Tiny Desk room, to sing some of her most memorable singles. In celebration of Black Music Month, NPR is highlighting legendary black music artist for the entire month of June with Chaka as the latest one. The 71-year old was shocked to see younger generations singing along with her.

Chaka Khan is a generational talent that helped inspire many of today’s newest music artist. As the lead vocalist of the funk band Rufus, Chaka paved an incredible lane in music. The 10 Grammy Award winner is behind classic singles like “Tell Me Something Good”, “Sweet Thing”, and “Ain’t Nobody”. Her single “Every Woman”, became a pop hit when Whitney Houston remade the single in 1992.  Last year she was also inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame by Jazmine Sullivan.

Taking her millions of fans back down memory lane, Chaka Khan’s performance feels like a mini tour. Chaka Khan’s beauty radiates as she sings memorable tunes from her solo career and with Rufus. Check out Chaka Khan’s incredible NPR Tiny Desk performance below.
