Chance The Rapper talks being an independent artist with Rolling Stone
When it comes to hip hop music, there are a rising number of rappers who have decided to remain independent. One of these artists is Chicago rapper, Chance The Rapper, who is one of the new breakout artists of this year. Chance The Rapper has so much going on and his buzz is huge since the release of Acid Rap.
The biggest break of all, arguably, came when Chance The Rapper was featured on the new mixtape from Lil Wayne. Dedication 5 helped introduce an entirely different and large audience to Chance The Rapper. A favorite off the mixtape happens to be “You Song,” the track where Chance is featured.
Rolling Stone magazine featured Chance The Rapper in their latest issue. They talked to him about a lot of topics and Chance The Rapper spoke on his work with Adult Swim, not realizing his own fame, performing in Europe, Acid Rap, and Dedication 5. Chance also talked about why he chose to be independent, calling the industry “dead.”
