Hip hop on television has relocated to MTV2 and Charlamagne Tha God is the new face of this medium. Of course, Charlamagne Tha God’s primary role is with Power 105.1, holding it down at “The Breakfast Club” with DJ Envy and Angela Yee. But, in a few short weeks, Charlamagne Tha God will be called on for a bigger role at MTV2.
Every summer ends with the MTV Video Music Awards. Without a doubt, the awards ceremony is a fan favorite and it shows hip hop colliding with all the other genres of music. This year will be big with Jay-Z making his comeback and all the other album releases.
Starting on August 20 and continuing until August 24, Charlamagne Tha God will host a short-run, five episode series, “Charlamagne and Friends.” This show will feature Charlamagne Tha God alongside artists, athletes, and comedians. They will all be discussing the upcoming 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.
