Charles “Big Boy” Temple, CEO of Big Boy Records, has died, according to Mystikal

Charles Big Boy TempleRightfully so, when people think of New Orleans hip hop, they think of both Birdman and Cash Money Records and Master P and No Limit Records. Those were the two CEOs and labels that made the most money. But, Charles “Big Boy” Temple was the one who opened it up.

Big Boy Records is the label Temple built and it was the first label home of Mystikal. A future star, Mystikal would go on to record for the other labels in New Orleans. At one point, Big Boy Records enjoyed a strong run that ended when Mystikal went to New Orleans.

This afternoon, Mystikal revealed shocking news to the hip hop audience. Longtime hip hop fans know exactly who Big Boy is and all about his label. What Mystikal revealed that one of his first label bosses has died this afternoon, via Instagram.
