Chingy set to Attempt a Comeback
In 2008, Chingy was dropped from DTP/Def Jam after lackluster sales of his album, Hate It or Love It. Despite the circumstances, Chingy is still the CEO of his own label, Slot-A-Lot Records and he is still making music.
Initially, an album from Chingy was expected this year, but he did not find a label to distribute his Slot-A-Lot imprint. When he was dropped from DTP Records, his label and his artists were also dropped.
The next time around, Chingy hopes to be in complete control. Before the end of this year, he hopes to establish a long-term distribution deal with a label. Then, early next year, he hopes to release his fifth studio album.
