Chris Paul said a kid made fun of his daughter, due to him not having a ring
Chris Paul’s daughter was bullied for him not having a ring
Chris Paul is one of the most gifted basketball players in NBA history. Two years ago, he was halfway to his first NBA championship, but Giannis had other plans. As a result, CP3 remains without a title two years later. Until 2018, CP3 received an onslaught of jokes for never getting past the second round of the playoffs. Ever since, he’s faced jokes for not winning a championship. When he went on “The Pivot,” Chris Paul discussed this, saying a kid picked on his daughter in school about this.
Chris Paul was a player filled with promise and talent when he was drafted. He joined the New Orleans Hornets, who were fresh off an 18-64 season. Within two years, CP3 had New Orleans at 56-26 and one win away from the Western Conference Finals. Despite 2-0 and 3-2 leads over the San Antonio Spurs, he couldn’t get it done. Back then, few people could predict this would become the story of his career. After he joined the Clippers, this kind of thing became routine for him.
Chris Paul recently spoke on “The Pivot” podcast and they asked him about not winning a championship. In his career, CP3 looked like he would win the title in 2008, 2013, 2018, and 2021. Each time, his teams had momentum and lost it. As a player, Chris Paul said not winning a title hasn’t bothered him. But he did say it bothers his family. He told of a time when his daughter got picked on at school over it. A kid told her “that’s why your daddy won’t win a ring.” CP3 said this upset his daughter.
