To everybody who was enjoying the LA Clippers winning 50 games every year and going to the playoffs, that’s probably over. They still have Blake Griffin, so they’re still an entertaining squad. But, it’s probably going to be more like 2011, again, instead of 2013 or 2014.
The sudden growth of the Golden State Warriors pretty much killed the momentum the Clippers were building. To think, Steph Curry once wanted to work his way up to Chris Paul’s position. After losing in the first round to the Jazz, it was obvious CP3 was frustrated.
Ultimately, the Clippers did the right thing and traded Chris Paul, pairing him with James Harden in Houston. Expectations for the new-look Rockets are all over the place, so don’t be surprised to see them continuing to lose in the second round, whether it’s the Spurs and if Kawhi Leonard plays or not. Living in the moment, Chris Paul donned his Houston Rockets jersey for the first time.
