Chris Rock lands $40 million deal with Netflix for two comedy specials

After being around, for years, Chris Rock truly became a household name. Emerging with “Everybody Hates Chris,” the cult sitcom ran for four years and became regarded as a classic. Seven years after the show was cancelled, it has daily marathon of its reruns.

 

Chris Rock only became a bigger star after his biographical series wrapped. His status was shown when the Oscars tapped Chris Rock to host their ceremony, again. This opened the door for an even bigger opportunity.

Since 2008, Netflix has invested a lot in their original programming. A lot of their investment is going to be in Chris Rock. They have closed a $40 million deal with Chris Rock for two comedy specials.
