Eleven years ago, Ciara brought her youthful energy into the game with support from Missy Elliott. At the time, it did not seem as if a torch had been passed, but it was. The early 2000s saw Missy Elliott have a strong run, but 2004-2005 saw her only groom Ciara to take over.
The 2004-2009 period was when Ciara emerged as one of the biggest names in R&B. Her contemporaries, during this period, were the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, and Keyshia Cole. Years later, these ladies are still dominant forces in the game.
Ciara has made plenty of headlines due to her relationship with NFL star, Russell Wilson. When she visited “CBS This Morning,” Ciara talked to Gayle King about this relationship and their vow to be celibate. They went on to discuss Russell’s relationship with her son and how Future fits into the equation.
