In 2014, Hot 97 made some major changes that saw DJ Cipha Sounds on the outside looking in. The longtime DJ/personality ended up being ousted from the station. At the same time, Angie Martinez decided to leave for Power 105.
When DJ Cipha Sounds showed up, DJ-ing her show, there was speculation that he was joining her show. But, that was simply a one-off, as Cipha Sounds had new projects to work on. Focusing on improv comedy, Cipha Sounds scored a TV deal with Tru-TV.
DJ Cipha Sounds stopped by Hot 97, talking to Ebro, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez. Talking about the show, only briefly, Cipha Sounds’ conversation was mostly about “The Breakfast Club.” Ebro and Rosenberg took turns sending shots at Charlamagne, throughout the conversation.
