City Girls’ “Act Up” Record Officially Goes Platinum In The Middle Of Ghost Writing Drama

The City Girls’ have a mega hit with their “Act Up” song off of their debut album “Girl Code” but it’s been met with some controversy over it being ghost written. Quality Control Music label mate Lil Yachty wrote the song for them as evident in the music video. Some care about artists’ songs being authentic without it being written by someone else while others think a hit is a hit period,(no pun intended) as City Girls member Yung Miami recently said on Instagram about the issue.

In the midst of the ghost writing criticism, Yung Miami just posted on her Instagram page that Act Up just went platinum. This is no surprise considering that female hip-hop fans have embraced this song heavily since the fall and is viewed as a summer anthem. Even though JT is incarcerated, Yung Miami is still holding it down as the City Girls continue to win big despite whatever beefs or controversy they face.

“WE GOT OUR 1ST MF’N PLATINUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PERIODT say what the fuck y’all want @citygirls the shit PERIOD name another bitch that can hold shit down!!!!!!!! Ooowwwww #FREEJT”
